Natural Home Remedies To Cure Cracked Heels


Cracked heels is a common but quite painful skin problem that may affects people of all ages. These cracks and painful fissures can develop on one, or both feet and often accompanied by hardening and peeling of skin, itchiness, development of vertical lesions and pain. Lack of moisture, lack of proper hygiene or skin care, poor circulation to the feet, wearing improper or too tight shoes are some common causes behind cracked heels. This problem may worsen during the winter months or if you live in dry climates. Luckily, here we have some best natural tips to cure cracked heels.

How To Cure Cracked Heels Naturally?


1. Banana Pulp

Banana is considered very effective to heal cracked heels. Take some pulp of fully ripe banana and apply all over affected areas. Leave at least for 15 minutes and then rinse off. Regular application will give you an excellent result within few days.

2. Banana, Avocado

A mixture of banana and avocado pulp is also very helpful in getting rid of cracked heels. Take 1 tablespoon of fully ripe banana pulp and 1 tablespoon of avocado pulp. Mix them well and apply this mixture over your cracked heels at least for 15 minutes and then wash off.

3. Rose water, Glycerine

A mixture of rose water and glycerine is also very effective in getting rid of cracked heels. Take equal quantities of rose water and glycerine and mix them well. Apply this mixture on your cracked heels and gently massage at least for 3-5 minutes. Leave there at least for half an hour and then wash off. For best results apply this mixture before going to bed and then wash off the next morning.

4. Glycerine, Rose water, Lemon juice

Take 1 teaspoon of glycerine , 1 teaspoon of rose water and 1 teaspoon of lemon juice. Mix all the ingredients and apply over cracked heels at least for half an hour and then wash off with lukewarm water.
Alternatively you can soak your feet in a basin of warm water containing some salt, glycerine, rose water and lemon. Soak your feet in this water for about 20 minutes and then gently scrub the affected areas with pumice stone or foot scrubber. Finally wash off with lukewarm water and pat dry with soft and clean towel.

5. Paraffin wax, Mustard Oil

For cracked and painful heels take some paraffin wax and mix it with mustard. Now heat the mixture in a pan or oven till the wax melts properly. Allow this to cool at room temperature and once it becomes cool enough then apply over your feet at least for half an hour. For best results, apply before going to bed and cover with a pair of socks. Next morning wash off with lukewarm water.

6. Vaseline, Lemon Juice

 A mixture of Vaseline and Lemon juice is also very effective in getting rid of cracked heels. Before applying this mixture, clean and dry your heels. Once all the dirt is out, soak your feet in warm water for about 20 minutes and then rinse and pat dry with clean and soft towel. Take 1 teaspoon of Vaseline and the juice of a lemon. Rub this mixture over your heels and massage well till it gets absorbed in the skin. For best results apply this mixture before going to bed and keep on overnight, wearing a pair of woolen socks. Next morning wash off with lukewarm water.

7. Rice Flour, Honey, Apple Cider Vinegar

A scrub made from ground rice, honey and apply cider vinegar is very helpful to cure cracked heels. First you need to soak your feet warm water at least for 15 minutes. Then prepare a scrub by mixing 2 tablespoons of ground rice, half teaspoon of honey and half teaspoon of apple cider vinegar. In case of extremely dry and cracked heels you can add some 1 teaspoon of olive oil. Now apply this paste over cracked heels and gently scrub for 3-5 minutes to remove dead skin cells. Leave for 10 minutes and then wash off with lukewarm water.

8. Honey, Lemon Juice

A mixture of honey and lemon juice is also very helpful to cure cracked heels. Take 1 tablespoon of honey and mix with 1 teaspoon of lemon juice. Apply this mixture over your clean heels at least for half an hour and then rinse off with lukewarm water. Alternatively you can soak your feet in a basin of warm water by mixing some honey and lemon juice. Soak your feet in this water at least for 20 minutes and then gently scrub your feet by using pumice stone or foot scrubber.

9. Sesame Oil

Sesame Oil also has been shown excellent results in getting rid of cracked heels. Massage your cracked heels with lukewarm sesame oil at least for 3-5 minutes and then wear a pair of woolen socks. After half an hour wash your feet with lukewarm water. For best results apply sesame oil before going to bed and leave there overnight. Next morning wash your heels with lukewarm water.

10. Papaya, Lemon juice

To cure your cracked heels you can make a mixture by mixing 1 teaspoon of lemon juice with 1 tablespoon of papaya pulp. Apply it on the cracked heels. Let it be there at least for 20 minutes and then wash off with lukewarm water.

11. Sugar, Olive Oil

A sugar and olive oil scrub is also very effective in getting rid of cracked heels. First of all take lukewarm water and soak your feet in it for 15 minutes. This will loosen the dead skin cells. Now take 1 tablespoon of sugar and mix with equal amount of olive oil and scrub your cracked heels with this scrub at least for 3-5 minutes. Let the olive oil absorb in heels at least for 10 minutes and then wash off with lukewarm water.

12. Coconut, Glycerine, Rose Water

A mixture of Coconut flesh, Coconut oil, glycerine and rose water is highly beneficial in curing cracked heels. Blend 1 tablespoon of coconut flesh,  1 tablespoon of coconut oil, one teaspoon of rose water and one teaspoon of glycerin. Apply this mixture all over your cracked heels at least for half an hour and then rinse off with lukewarm water.
