Ascites, also known as dropsy or abdominal dropsy in this condition fluid accumulate in the peritoneal or abdominal cavity. The stomach gets swollen; the patient has a feeling of heaviness and uneasiness. The legs swell up, and even breathing is not normal, which causes rapid heart palpitations. Make a fine powder of White goose-foot (Bathua) seeds and take 5-7 gm along with a decoction prepared by boiling White goose-foot leaves. White goosefoot vegetable is most effective in treating Ascites. It helps in draining the excess fluid.

2-Nigella seeds

Black Seed Considered a Universal Remedy for every Disease except Death. Extract 2 ounces juice from fresh and green Bitter gourd (Karela) and mix it with 20 gm pure Honey and 10 drops of Nigella seeds (Kalonji) oil. Divide into three portions and take three times during the day.

3-Black Nightshade

Extract juice from fresh and green Black Nightshade (Makoh / Mako) the leaves and stem, in doses of 6 to 8 ml either it can be used as decoction or Arq Makoh can also be taken in the treatment of Ascites. The leaves are popularly used as a vegetable. The leaves blend well with other greens and pulses. The juice of the leaves can be mixed with medium like coconut water, coconut milk, butter-milk, cow's milk and fruit juice. The diuretic properties of Black Nightshade can help treat Ascites. It increases the secretion and discharge of urine.

4-Coconut water

Coconut water is valuable in Ascites it can improve the functioning of the kidneys as they work as natural diuretics. Coconut water is also a urinary antiseptic and eliminates poisons in the case of mineral poisoning.

5-Camel milk

Milk especially Camel milk can be given to the patient instead of water In case of abnormal thirst. Intake of more water during the case of Ascites adds more swelling and weight gain.

6-Garlic

Mix well half-teaspoon fresh Garlic (Lehsan) juice in 125ml of water and consume it twice a day. 7-Bitter Gourd

Extract 25 ml fresh juice from Bitter gourd (Karela) and mix it with 25 ml water drinks it thrice a day. Bitter gourd juice can also be taken on an empty stomach. Moreover regular intake can provide prompt recovery of the complications imposed by Ascites.

8-Radish leaves

Mix ½ cup fresh extracted juice of Radish (Muli) plant leaves with a little water and consume it daily on a regular basis. The juice of fresh Radish leaves has been found to be very beneficial in the controlling the intensity of Ascites.

9-Fenugreek Seeds

Soak ½ cup / 3 tbsp Fenugreek seeds (Methi Dana) in 4 ounces /1 cup of hot water overnight next morning, gently swirl the seeds and water and then strain it drink the water on an empty stomach. Taking cooked fenugreek seeds is also highly beneficial in Ascites.

Make lukewarm 3 tbls / ½ cup extract juice of Onion and take it or Include onion in your diet. Onion is a very powerful diuretic and it helps in draining excess accumulated fluid through the means of urine.

12-White Gram / Chickpeas

Soak 1 cup of White gram /Chickpeas (Kabuli Chana) in 250 ml hot water overnight next morning, Strain the liquid. You will have to drink this for at least 3 weeks to see a noticeable change.

Eat Melon (Kharboza) daily in a significant lavish portion to stay healthy and fight Ascites. It also helps in digestion and restoring the fluid balance, as well as other parts of homeostasis.

14-Mango

15-Ginger

Avoid starchy foods like rice, grains, and potatoes as far as possible. Patients are generally advised to completely abstain from all alcoholic beverages and to reduce their sodium intake. Sodium draws water into the body and potassium helps excrete it. So to reduce water retention limits your salt intake and eats more potassium-rich foods, such as leafy green vegetables, citrus fruit and sunflower seeds. Stay away from alcohol! It is the cause behind 83% of all patients suffering from this disease.

18-Jasmine or Castor oil

Take 10-60 grain hogweed powder along with hot water or drink 10-20 gm juice of fresh root in small sips throughout the day. Decoction prepared by boiling roots of Spreading Hogwood (Tukhm-i-ispast) should be taken in the dosage of 30 ml at least twice a day.

2-Corn silk

Corn silk (also known as maize silk), classified as Zea mays, is known to have diuretic properties Corn silk tea can be made from fresh or dried tassels, fresh being preferred but attention should be paid to whether the plants were sprayed with pesticides. Corn silk (Makai resham) tea or infusion can be made by pouring 1 cup (240 ml) of boiling water over 2 tsp (2.5 g) of dried corn silk. The mixture is covered and steeped for 10–15 minutes. You can sweeten with honey to taste and a dash of fresh lemon juice may also enhance the taste. The tea should be consumed three times daily. At maximum use for 10 days and then skip for 5 days.

3-Liquorice

Make a fine powder of Liquorice roots (Mulethi) as required. Take 1 teas of this powder along with a glass of boiled hot water or boil in a glass of and drink three times daily during Ascites Liquorice is very beneficial in arresting excessive. Its beneficial compounds help in Water retention.

4-Triphala

Make a fine powder of Emblica goose berry, Chebulic Myrobolan; Terminalia Bellirica (Amla, Hareer, and Bheera) in same quantities and take 1 tsp along with a decoction of Spreading Hogwood / Punarnava (Tukhm-i-ispast) root or the arq of  Spreading Hogwood.

5-Parsley

Add fresh parsley to your meals or steep some parsley in a hot cup of water for 15 minutes or take 2-3 tsp extract juice of fresh parsley thrice a day. It's a natural diuretic that helps cleanse your blood and stimulates the movement of toxins through your kidneys.

6-Celery seeds

Take 5 gm Celery seeds (Ajmuda) along with lukewarm water or steep in glass of hot water for 15 minutes. There is a substance known as butylidene-phthalide found in Celery seeds that help to stimulate a diuretic action.

7-Dandelion leaf

Take 2-3 tbls powder of dried Dandelion flower (Gul Qasidi) leaves along with a cup of hot water or steep a handful of fresh leaves in a cup of hot water for 15 minutes consume it for thrice a day. Never use dandelions which have been treated with pesticides, herbicides, fertilizers or any chemicals. Dandelion nourishes and boosts overall liver (hepatic) performance Stimulates urinary function to help flush out toxins (diuretic)

8-Couch grass, Yarrow

Steep ½ tsp dried Couch grass (Sofi ghass / Doob) and ½ tsp dried Yarrow (Huzneil) in a cup boiling water for 15 minutes strain and add honey to sweeten if desired or a slice of lemon. Couch grass and Yarrow enhances better kidney function and excretion of urine and water from the body, soothes the inflammation of the bladder and urinary tract and also soothes the inflammation of liver and gallbladder.

9-Rhubarb root

Indian Rhubarb (Rewandchini) strengthens the liver and is useful in cirrhosis, jaundice and Ascites. It contains chemicals that may increase urine production and decrease swelling (inflammation). Pour 150ml of boiling water over 1 to 2 grain coarsely powdered rhubarb root and then strain after 5 minutes. The tea is meant to be taken in the evening before bedtime. Dose of powdered root, 3 to 30 grains.

10-Juniper berries

Juniper berries (Samer/Tukhm Ardaj /Abhal) contain chemicals that might decrease inflammation and gas. It might also be effective in fighting bacteria and viruses. The traditional use of juniper is as a diuretic and to treat conditions of the bladder or kidneys. It helps in draining the excess fluid. To prepare a tea, pour one teacup of boiling water over 0.5 grams / 1 tbls of crushed Juniper Berry. The mixture is covered and steeped for 10-20 minutes. Take 3 times daily. The tea should not be used for longer than two weeks at a time.

11-Sarsaparilla

Take one Sarsaparilla (Salsa) dried root soak in 1 litre of hot water over night, and drink this water throughout day. Sarsaparilla is a diuretic and body coolant too.
